Passive Income Report March 2017

Blog Income Report, Blogging, Online Business, Traffic and Income Report, Make Money Blogging, Make Money Online, Grow Your BlogWelcome to my monthly income report for March 2017!

Since October 2015, every month I publish a detailed report with all the accounts for my online businesses. On them I include the earnings and expenses, I tell a little bit about my personal experience and what new things I have been trying during this period of time. I explain as well what my future targets are and if the previous ones have been achieved or not. Why doing this?

  1. It helps me to keep track of my personal finances. In any moment of time, I can look back at my reports and see what steps and results I got from determined strategies, like a log book.
  2. Increase trusting. I also want to show you that I am a real person starting from the first step. There are many amazing bloggers out there reporting their incomes of thousands of dollars, but I found very little bloggers reporting low amounts of money like me. I think this can help to starters and to people who are not decided yet to start their own online business.
  3. Motivation. Writing here my results will put me on that kind of uncomfortable position in which I need to demonstrate that I can go one step further instead of getting lazy and rely on excuses. My finances are open to everybody!

I know that every month I say the same, but it’s the truth. All earnings here reported are coming from Passive Income sources. I am not including any kind of outsourcing because the intention is you show you how far I can go with only passive income sources.

This is my 16th month reporting my accounts and I simply love it! I can’t believe I started blogging more than one year ago, it just feel great =)

IMPORTANT THINGS GOING ON IN MARCH

1. Start Creating My Saving Money Online Course

This is an idea I’ve been thinking for a long time. This month I’ve structured the plan for the creation of my online course.

This course will have 10 online lessons that you’ll receive in your inbox after enrolling (1 lesson per day). Currently, I’m working on this course, writing up the content, creating worksheets, printables and more.

The best thing is that it’s going to be completely for free. If you want to be added to the waiting list, you can sign up now, and once it’s ready you will be notified.

2. Get a PhD

On the 31st I did the PhD Viva Voce (this is the final exam to get the PhD) and I passed! I’m so happy for this as it has taken 3 years of my life. The topic of my PhD is data analysis applied to the oil and gas industry.

From now, I’ve become a doctor and that means I will have a better career progress.

The best thing is that now I have more free time to use on my blog and travel around the world.

3. Make a Working Plan and Schedule

This month I’ve spent some time trying to figure out the direction of Passive Income Wise. If one day I want to quit my job and blog full time, I need to compromise with working on a daily basis and during a fixed time (like a normal job).

That’s why I scheduled a working plan for working days and for weekends. I’m planning to spend 20 hours per week (this is the bottom line) on my blog.

I’ve also set a number of goals for the upcoming month, 3rd month, 6th month and 1st year from now.

I did all of this with my wife (she is having her own blog) as if we are business partners. I’m so excited, it feels like if I started my own company! 🙂

4.Travel to Nuremberg and Munich (Germany)

This month we took a leisure trip to Germany (we’ve never been before) and it was great. We did it during the week before my PhD exam so I can relax and stop panicking. Some people may think I’m crazy going on holidays days before such an important day, but for me, it was the best idea we could ever have.

We drank one of the best beers in the world (german red beer) and a variety of sausages. German sausages are the best, if you ever travel there, you should try them!

If you ever travel either to Munich or Nuremberg, you can ask me and I’ll tell you what to visit!

Content Creation

In March I published 4 posts (including the February income report). This month I’ve been focused in long posts, between 1,500-2,000 words. I’ve come to realize that it’s better to publish less often but more in-depth posts than short and less useful articles.

I’ve also spent some quality time in creating the material of my online course.

Here is the list this the posts I published during the last month:

The 25 strategies to increase your blog traffic has been one of the favourite posts this month and it seems to be helpful for other bloggers. The reason why I wrote it, it’s because many people asked about how do I manage to have my traffic numbers, so I decided that a post will ask this question better than a simple comment.

And now… let’s start with the interesting part. I know you are here to check out my numbers 🙂

INCOME REPORT

EXPENSES

Last year I needed an upgrade for the host of my Niche Site 1. Before I was using a shared hosting with a limitation of 150 GB of transfer data, now I have my own VPS in where I have up to 5,000 GB and I can host an unlimited number of domains.

  • VPS (Host Niche Site 1): $61.00
  • Other Expenses: $0.00

The initial investment for the hosting and domain name (for PIW) was done in October and this one is already running for free.

Net Total Balance: $857.65 $61.00 = $796.65

  • Previous month: $473.70
  • Difference: + $322.96 (+68.2%)

March has been the best month so far since I started in terms of net total balance! Hurraaay! After 3 months being stuck near the $500 profit, I’ve been able to reach almost $800.

Be aware that I put a 30% aside to pay taxes and the money that goes to my savings is less than the reported above.

Every month I try to spend around $100 in plugins and other useful stuff to improve my blog performance. This month I didn’t purchase anything. However, I would like to purchase a bundle of courses in April (I’ll give you more details in the next income report).

This is my 18th month reporting my accounts and it seems to keep growing little by little which make me so happy. Obviously, it’s nothing to compare with other famous bloggers, but for a starter like me, it’s considered an important milestone. I am having nearly $800 profit and this is something I’ve never expected to happen.

Imagine what would you do with an extra $796 extra per month?

The graph below shows my income and expenses since I started with my Niche Site 1 in February 2015. It seems incredible that I’ve been on this for more than two years!

March is the 7th month I am donating a part of my income to children with health issues and learning disabilities.

Since September, every month I’m sharing how much money Passive Income Wise is giving to help these families.

Income Donated This Month: 10%($796.65) = $79.66

Total Income Donated Accumulated = $407.27

Nice! One step closer to build a school in China!

TRAFFIC AND METRICS

After a few months, I am back reporting my traffic and metrics. And I do it because of you.

I received emails, comments, and even a phone call just asking to continue reporting my traffic.

I will report the metrics only from this blog.

Passive Income Wise

Since I started using Tailwind (Pinterest pin scheduler) my traffic has increased a lot. A few months I ago I barely received a few hundreds of visits, and now thousands!

I went from 3k to nearly 20k page views! 4 Pinterest viral pins brought me nearly half of the traffic this month.

The traffic sources are mainly coming from Pinterest (73%) and Direct. A couple of months ago I didn’t receive any traffic from Pinterest and this month it’s my main source of traffic thanks to Tailwind and the pin scheduler tool.

If you want to try Tailwind for free you can do it following this link (and get a $15 discount). It offers auto scheduler for 100 free pins at optimised times depending on your audience.

Organic traffic is building up month after month. I already have some long tail keywords ranking in positions 2-3 in Google.

The most visited posts during February were:
