Passive Income Report June 2017

Blog Income Report, Blogging, Online Business, Traffic and Income Report, Make Money Blogging, Make Money Online, Grow Your BlogSince October 2015, every month I publish a detailed report with all the accounts for my online businesses. On them I include the earnings and expenses, I tell a little bit about my personal experience and what new things I have been trying during this period of time. I explain as well what my future targets are and if the previous ones have been achieved or not. Why doing this?

  1. It helps me to keep track of my personal finances. In any moment of time, I can look back at my reports and see what steps and results I got from determined strategies, like a log book.
  2. Increase trusting. I also want to show you that I am a real person starting from the first step. There are many amazing bloggers out there reporting their incomes of thousands of dollars, but I found very little bloggers reporting low amounts of money like me. I think this can help to starters and to people who are not decided yet to start their own online business.
  3. Motivation. Writing here my results will put me on that kind of uncomfortable position in which I need to demonstrate that I can go one step further instead of getting lazy and rely on excuses. My finances are open to everybody!

I know that every month I say the same, but it’s the truth. All earnings here reported are coming from Passive Income sources. I am not including any kind of outsourcing because the intention is you show you how far I can go with only passive income sources.

This is my 21st month reporting my accounts and I simply love it! I can’t believe I started blogging more than one year ago, it just feels great =)

You can have a look to some of my previous monthly income reports:

IMPORTANT THINGS GOING ON IN JUNE

I’m writing this income report with some delay (it’s nearly the middle of July!) and I will not include many “things going on” in June, but at least I’ll mention them.

1. First Time Ever Over $1,000

This is probably the most exciting blogging-thing of this month. I’ve never reached before the $1,000 target and now that I did it, I’m so excited. Yihaaaaa!

A couple of years ago, Passive Income Wise was making nearly no money and back then I didn’t really though it was possible to make even $100 from blogging.

Now I can say that it’s possible! However, it’s not easy, but if you are passionate about your blog, it will be like a hobby.

2 years ago I was dreaming about the $1,000/month, today I dream about the $10,000/month. Will it be possible?

2. First Cropping from my Indoor Vegetable Garden

Last month I started my own indoor vegetable garden. Not only because it will save some money in fresh vegetables, but also because it’s more healthy eating your own crop (you avoid chemicals).

In the past, I’ve done this in my previous house back garden with great results. Now we’re living in a flat and we don’t have a garden anymore so I decided to do it in a self next to a south facing window.

If you plan to start an indoor vegetable garden you want to have your plants near a window facing south. This is because they will receive a lot of more sun (which is essential) than if they are facing any other directions.

This year I’ve seeded lettuce, tomato, aubergine, chili peppers, spinach, rocket, coriander, parsley, mint, sage, chives, swiss chard and a few more things.

After a month we have been able to eat lettuce, spinach, rocket and swiss chard already.

In this image, you can see some of the plants we have, however, plants are now much bigger! In the top picture are some chard, basil rocket and chillies in a hydroponic system.

The bottom left picture is a healthy lettuce and the last picture is some cherry tomatoes.

Content Creation

In June I published 2 posts (including the May income report). This month I’ve been focused in long posts, between 1,500-2,000 words. I’ve come to realize that it’s better to publish less often but more in-depth posts than short and less useful articles.

I’ve also spent some quality time in creating the material of my online course.

Here is the list this the posts I published during the last month:

The 7 steps to pay off your debt has been one of the favourite posts this month and it seems to be helpful for other people. The reason why I wrote it, it’s because a couple of people asked me about it, so I decided that a post will ask this question better than a simple comment.

And now… let’s start with the interesting part. I know you are here to check out my numbers 🙂

INCOME REPORT

Paid surveys: $895.48     Read my post 7 Free Online Survey Sites To Join For Extra Cash

  • Previous Month: $612.98
  • Difference:$282.50

The websites I use to generate this income are American Consumer Opinion, Swagbucks, Vindale Research, Survey Downline, Earning Station and Qmee.

Google Adsense (from niche site 1): $61.49

  • Previous Month: $56.94
  • Difference:$4.55

Monumetric Ads (from niche site 1): $53.29        Start with Monumetric for free if you have more than 80k pageviews

  • Previous Month: $53.29
  • Difference: – $4.28

EXPENSES

Last year I needed an upgrade for the host of my Niche Site 1. Before I was using a shared hosting with a limitation of 150 GB of transfer data, now I have my own VPS in where I have up to 5,000 GB and I can host an unlimited number of domains.

  • VPS (Host Niche Site 1): $64.00
  • Other Expenses: $0.00

The initial investment for the hosting and domain name (for PIW) was done in October and this one is already running for free.

Net Total Balance: $1,116.31 $64.00 = $1,052.31

  • Previous month: $895.19
  • Difference: + $157.12 (+17.55%)

June has been the best month so far since I started (in both, total income and balance). It seems that my blog is jumping to the “next level”, if I can keep income above $1,000/month and keep expenses low, it will be amazing! I’ve been hovering on these amount for four months already.

Be aware that I put a 30% aside to pay taxes and the money that goes to my savings is less than the reported above.

Money saved for taxes (30% of $1,116.31) = $334.89

This is my 21st month reporting my accounts and it seems to keep growing little by little which makes me so happy. Obviously, it’s nothing to compare with other famous bloggers, but for a starter like me, it’s considered an important milestone. I am having more than $1,000 profit and this is something I’ve never expected to happen.

Imagine what would you do with an extra $1,052 extra per month?

The graph below shows my income and expenses since I started with my Niche Site 1 in February 2015. It seems incredible that I’ve been on this for more than two years!

The graph below shows the balance or profit which is calculated as:

Balance = Income Expenses

June is the 10th month I am donating a part of my income to children with health issues and learning disabilities.

Since September, every month I’m sharing how much money Passive Income Wise is giving to help these families.

I calculate it as the 10%(Total Income – Tax Money – Expenses)

Income Donated This Month: 10%($717.42) = $71.74

Total Income Donated Accumulated = $645.41

Nice! One step closer to build a school in China!

TRAFFIC AND METRICS

After a few months, I am back reporting my traffic and metrics. And I do it because of you.

I received emails, comments, and even a phone call just asking to continue reporting my traffic.

I will report the metrics only from this blog.

Since I started using Tailwind (Pinterest pin scheduler) my traffic has increased a lot. A few months I ago I barely received a few hundreds of visits, and now thousands!

I went from 3k to more than 10k page views! 2 Pinterest viral pins brought me more than 30% of the traffic this month.

The traffic sources are mainly coming from Pinterest (46%) and Direct (40%). A couple of months ago I didn’t receive any traffic from Pinterest and this month it’s my main source of traffic thanks to Tailwind and the pin scheduler tool.

If you want to try Tailwind for free you can do it following this link (and get a $15 discount). It offers auto scheduler for 100 free pins at optimised times depending on your audience.

Organic traffic is building up month after month. I already have some long tail keywords ranking in positions 2-3 in Google.

The most visited posts during June were:

It seems that people from Pinterest like tips to make/save money, 7 out of 10 of the most visited posts are related to these categories. The favourite posts are my list of more than 25 ways of saving money every month, which is a compilation of tricks I use on a daily basis to save up to $800 every month and the 7 blogging hacks that will save you 40 hours a week, which is a list of resources I use on my blog every week to save time.

FUTURE WORK AND TARGETS

As a future work for July 2017 the followings are my targets:

  • Write 5 to 10 new blog posts (2 of them should be related to the online course I’m working on).
  • Change my email list from MailPoet to ConvertKit and do all the blog integration.
  • Get 10,000 sessions.
  • Join 5 new Pinterest boards.
  • Keep the $1,000/month income.
  • Create new thumbnails and pins for my old posts.
  • Create a new Autoresponder.
  • Buy new stock photos.
  • Send at least 1 broadcast email every week.

This month is going to be very challenging, my targets are very high and I will need to work hard towards them. Plus on top of that, I am travelling a lot in July and I will only spend 2 weeks in my blog.

That’s everything for this past June.

If you are thinking about starting your own blog, I created a tutorial-guide that will help you start your own blog for cheap, You need very little investment, starting at only $3.95 per month (this deal is only through my link) for blog hosting. • Yeah, I can’t believe that I’m already this far. For July, I’m expecting even better numbers 🙂

  1. Hey Francisco,
how many of these survey sites give referral money because I have seen that only Swagbucks and Vindale research pay you for referrals but not any other website.

You have very nice income and really inspired others to start their own blog.

    • Most of them pay for referrals, but you need to find them in Affiliate networks such as Flexoffers, Shareasale or iGain

  2. Congrats on breaking $1000 in online income!

I actually saw your pin on Pinterest and the amount you made caught my eye since I’ve been following your blog for awhile.

I hope it keeps going well for you.

Also, I actually made money for the first time on my blog today!

    It’s an awesome feeling.

    • Thank you for your comment, Cory. And congratulations too! The first $1 is the most difficult and you already did it 🙂
I’m also very happy that my blog took off.
In a couple of weeks, I will have my July income report which looks promising. Cheers!

  3. Super incredible! Congratulations on your first four figure month! I’ve been following your income reports for a while and I’m excited to continue watching your progress.
